Aluminium Salt

I Aluminum salts have been in use for nearly a century, serving various roles such as enhancing vaccine effectiveness, aiding in water purification, and providing relief for stomach issues. Aluminum is the most prevalent metal in the Earth's crust and ranks third in abundance after oxygen and silicon. Consequently, it naturally occurs in trace amounts in food, water, and minerals like kaolin, clays, perlite, talc, or diatomaceous earth, which are found in many cosmetic items. Alum stone, which contains a soluble aluminum salt, is recognized for its astringent effects. The soluble aluminum salts used in beauty products are manufactured. Aluminum is also found in its insoluble form in the pigments used in makeup or toothpastes designed to lighten tooth discoloration from tea or coffee. The aluminum salts typically found in antiperspirants are aluminum chlorohydrates, which are effective in reducing sweat and associated smells by forming small clusters at the sweat duct's opening. There have been concerns about aluminum salts potentially contributing to breast cancer and Alzheimer's disease. However, over the last decade, numerous international expert groups, including the WHO, the United States Food Safety Division, the American Cancer Committee, and the committee based on french, have reviewed the safety of aluminum salts in cosmetics. All these groups have concluded that the current evidence does not support a link between aluminum salts in cosmetics and breast cancer or Alzheimer's disease. This conclusion is in line with the very low ability of aluminum salts to penetrate the skin. The European Union's Scientific Committee on Consumer Safety (SCCS) and other committee based on french, such as the German Federal Institute for Risk Assessment (BfR), have also made clear statements multiple times that the available information does not support the idea that aluminum compounds, including aluminum salts, are carcinogenic. The SCCS has mentioned a study showing that less than 0.002% of the aluminum in an antiperspirant actually reaches the skin, a very small amount that is consistent with its use on the skin's surface. In March 2024, the SCCS updated its opinion on aluminum, completing the updates from 2020 and earlier. This latest opinion reaffirms that the use of products containing aluminum compounds is safe across all cosmetic product categories. For more details, visit our website. Using cosmetic products that contain aluminum salts poses no risk and are, therefore, completely safe for consumers.
