Responsible Nacl consumption

Be very responsible about what you consume, it's always about being eating right and smiling bright.Consuming too much salt can result in elevated blood pressure and cardiovascular diseases, which rank among the primary causes of mortality and disability in India and across the globe. Research indicates that the average Indian consumes 50% more salt than the levels recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO), posing a significant threat to health. To reduce salt intake in India, the Ministry of Health and WHO are working together on various initiatives aimed at encouraging individuals to make healthier dietary selections. Unfortunately, it can be challenging to identify the salt levels in our meals, particularly when purchasing packaged foods. Numerous items available, like instant noodles, contain high amounts of salt. However, without proper nutritional labeling on food packaging, it becomes difficult to determine the salt content of these products. To enhance consumer awareness regarding the sodium levels in packaged goods, the Ministry of Health has implemented a new rule requiring food manufacturers to specify the sodium* content on the nutrition facts label. This information is typically located on the back of the package. The sodium content must be indicated in milligrams (mg), either per 100 grams or 100 milliliters of the product. Furthermore, consumers are encouraged to report any instances where sodium content is not indicated on the package. They can either directly contact the food manufacturer or submit a complaint through the Ministry of Health's public complaint management system. WHO has been actively supporting the Ministry of Health's initiatives to raise awareness about the health dangers associated with excessive salt consumption and the necessity of lowering salt intake. Examples of past efforts include a communication campaign focused on social and behavioral change, which sought to educate people of all ages in India about the hazards of high salt consumption. Clearly labeling the sodium content on products is a vital measure in empowering consumers to make more informed and healthier dietary decisions.
